Russia Post released a souvenir sheet with a general view of the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery on 15th November 2023 to celebrate it's 550th Anniversary.
The Holy Dormition Pskovo-Pechersky Monastery is one of the largest and best-known male monasteries in Russia with a centuries-old history.It originated in caves on the bank of the Kamenets brook, discovered by local people in 1392. According to a legend, the caves were inhabited by monks who ran away to the Pskov Land from the south from Crimean Tatar raids.
