Kokkare Bellur

A Special Cover was released on Kokkare Bellur on 21st January 2026 at Bellur.

 Kokkare Bellur is a village in Maddur Taluk of Mandya District in Karnataka State. The Village is named after the Painted Stork which is called "Kokkare" in Kannada Language. KokkareBellur is renowned for the large number of Painted Storks and Spot-billed Pelicans that migrate here annually from different Countries. Kikkarebellur is not a reserved forest sanctuary but a small village where the storks and pelicans co-exist freely in total harmony with the villagers.
