No Tobacco Day
On 31st May 2019, No Tobacco Day, a special cancellation was issued at Patna to create awareness on the effects of Tobacco.
A special cancellation was issued at Patna to generate awareness towards fatal effects of addictive consumption of tobacco and tobacco products.Tobacco, due to its nicotine content, remains one of the widespread addictions worldwide.Mahatma Gandhi, while generating fund for All India Tilak Memorial Swaraj Fund in 1921, had given a clarion call to 'Give Up Smoking'. In the backdrop of Gandhi's birth sesquicentennial celebration, this cancellation is a befitting tribute to him as well as a cautionary awareness against tobacco, the invited killer.
Special cancellations on World No Tobacco Day 2019, were released from Bodhgaya and Muzaffarpur also, in addition to Patna. The cancellation design of Bodhgaya is same as that of Patna but in the cancellation of Muzaffarpur we find a repetition of 'NoTobacco Day' and Muzaffarpur written within box.
