Maharashtra Postal Circle released a special cancellation on 15th July 2025 to welcome Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla's return from Indian Space Station.

Scientific mission of Luna-25

Russia Post released a stamp depicting an image of automatic interplanetary station Luna-25 on a mission to the Moon on 14th November 2023.

Luna-25 is a part of the Russian lunar program, the first Russian lunar mission on-going at the Lavochkin Association, JSC, for the exploration and practical use of the Moon and near-lunar space by automatic interplanetary stations.

Cosmonautics Day

Russia Post released a stamp to celebrate the Cosmonautics Day on 12th April 2023 featuring the artwork by Competition Winner I. Miroshnichenko which has an image of a cosmonaut against the background of outer space.

Russia - Space Power

Russia Post issued a souvenir sheet with 3 stamp on the Space Power of Russia on 9th June 2020.

The stamps depict  the first self-propelled vehicle Lunokhod-1 (1970), space astrophysical observatory Spectr-RG (2019), and promising manned spacecraft Orel (2025)

Kalpana Chawla

A special cover was released on 5th February 2019 at Karnal in rememberence of Kalpana Chawla.

GLONASS - Russian Space Navigation System

A special stamp was released by Russia Post on 5th July 2016 depicting GLONASS - Russian Space Navigation System.

GLONASS ("GLObal NAvigation Satellite System") is a Russian satellite navigation system providing real-time positioning services to unlimited number of users on land, at sea, in the air and in space. The stamp features the GLONASS-K satellite and graphic icons representing the main consumers of the satellite navigation system services.

55 years of the first manned flight into space.

 Russia post released a stamp of Yuri Gagarin to celebrate 55 years of the first manned flight into space on 12th April 2016 which is a remarkable date for the Russian cosmonauts.

On 12 April 1961, the Soviet space pilot Yuri Alexeevich Gagarin became the first man in the world to perform a flight into space. Gagarin made one orbit around the Earth for 1 hour 48 minutes in the Vostok orbital spaceship and safely returned home.

50th Anniversary of the first Spacewalk

Russia Post released a commemorative stamp on 10th April 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Spacewalk. On March 18, 1965, Soviet rocket "Soyuz" with double manned spaceship "Voskhod-2" with Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev and Alexei Leonov on board was successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

India-France: 50 years of space cooperation

La Poste and India Post  issued a set of two stamps on 10th April 2015 depicting the two satellites Megha-Tropiques and SARAL under the theme of "India-France: 50 years of space cooperation". The set of two stamp and miniature sheet which has been  incorporated with QR code for the first time in India, will be unveiled on the occasion of Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s  visit to France.

India and France heralded a new era of bilateral cooperation with the establishment of formal diplomatic relations in 1947.Space cooperation between the two countries has now turned 50, making it India's oldest and most important collaboration with an European nation. Since the 1990's CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) have been collaborating together and the collective efforts have resulted in the launch of space missions - Megha-Tropiques in 2011 and SARAL in 2013.

50th Anniversary of the First Woman in Space.

Russia Post released a stamp to commemorate 50th Anniversary of the First Woman in Space on 5th July 2013.

On June 16, 1963 spaceship “Vostok-6” was launched from the “Baikonur” space-vehicle launching site, carrying the world’s first woman-cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova  to space. In spite of the physical discomfort, Tereshkova endured 48 orbits around the Earth and spent almost 3 days in space. During the flight, she was keeping a logbook and was making photographs of the Earth’s horizon, which were later used for detection of aerosol layers in the atmosphere.

 

50 years of first Human flight into space.

On 12th April Russia Post released a Sovenir Sheet of 50 Rubles to celebrate the anniversary of the first manned flight into space. April 12, 1961 at 9:00 07 minutes Moscow time, the spaceship "Vostok " with YA Gagarin on board was launched into Earth orbit from the Baikonur cosmodrome.After the flight, Yuri Gagarin, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, and April 12 was World Day of Aviation and Astronautics.
