Russia post released a souvenir sheet to celebrate 200 years of Discovery of Antarctica on 16th July 2019 depictingsloops "East" and "Peace" with the Antarctica landscape in the background.
The first Russian Antarctic expedition of 1819-1821 on the sloops "East" and "Peace" under the command of F.F. Bellingshausen (1778–1852) and M.P. Lazarev (1788–1851). On July 16 (4), 1819, the expedition set sail. The direct discovery of the coast of Antarctica occurred on January 28, 1820.
