A Special cover on Banganapalli Mango was released on 6th September 2021 at Andhra Pradesh.
Banaganapalli (Baneshan) Mango is called" King of Mangoes". It received geographical indication tag in May 2017 for its sweetness. It's characteristics are golden yellow colour, soft, less fibre pulp and very light spots on the skin. The primary centre Is Banaganapalli of Kurnool district. It is grown over 100 years in AP, at present it is grown in 3.78 lakh hectares in 12 districts of Andhra Pradesh, with production of 49.26 lacs MTS per annum and annual turnover of Rs. 461 crores. The prime season for the fruit is mid-February to mid-July.
