A Special cover on the invention of Khaki colour at Mangaluru was released on 30th October 2022 at Mangaluru.
A Basel Missionary - Sir John Halier invented the world famous "KHAKI" colour dye from indigenous ingredients at Basel Mission Weaving Factory, Balmatta, Mangaluru in 1851. Later, Madras Governor Lord Roberts introduced it as uniform of the British Army World over.
