Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) is the main spice crop of Chamarajanagar District. Chamarajanagar District falls under southern dry agro climate zone-tv of Karnataka. 'Chamarajanagar Local' a variety of Turmeric which is having more curcumin content acts as Anti¬inflammatory and Strong Antioxidant. Turmeric has been declared as the main crop of Chamarajanagar District under 'One District One Product' scheme.
