A special cover was released in Saligoa to celebrate the Birth Centenary of C.Alvares on 1st August 2020.
C. Alvares was born on 1st August, 1920 in Saligoa. He hailed from a family of stage artists called Fokanneager. he was an actor, writer and director par excellence and earned titles like Evergreen Hero, Ace director and King of Duets. Besides performing in Tiatr he also performed in konkani movies like Amche Noxib, Nirmon etc.
