A Special cover on the Palakkadan Banana Chips was released on 11th October 2022 at Palakkad.
Palakkad district in Kerala State, especially Alathur area is famous for chips made of tender Banana, fried in natural coconut oil and it is being exported to various parts of the world. Govt. Of India, Ministry of Food processing Industries has declared Banana based products as the approved product of Palakkad district under 'One District One Product' scheme of Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises. As a part of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abjitan project, Dept of post, Keraka postal Circle proudly rekeased a special cover to honour all those who relentlessly work for the promotion and marketing of the product.
