A Special cover was released on the Asian Honey Bee on 13th March 2021 at Dehradun.
Apis cerana, is a species of honey bee native to southern.southeastern and eastern Asia.The colony of Apis cerana are relatively small, with only around 6000 to 7000 female worker bees, one queen bee and several hundred male drone bees. Apis cerana is kept by beekeepers in diverse Himalayan mountainous areas and can thrive well in these areas as they are adapted for environment. Apis cerana is an important bee to beekeepers in Asia and provides a long-term employment opportunity.
