A special Cover was released to celebrate 40 years of Tiger conservation at Periyar Tiger Reserve 21st December 2018 at Thekkady.
Periyar tiger reserve occupies a special place in the annals of conservation history in India. The biological opulence of Periyar landscape is exemplified through charismatic species such as tigers, elephants and other life forms. This tiger reserve is renowned for its people inclusive management as it has intrinsic economic, ecological, cultural and recreational values that sustain the livelihoods of a large number of people.
