A set of 2 covers, meter and stamp cancelled were released on 11th December 2020 at Mangaluru and Mysuru to commemorate the introduction of direct flight services between Mysuru and Mangaluru by Alliance air, as subsidiary of Air India.

Public Letter Boxes with Writing desk.

All Letter Boxes, in Bengaluru West Division, which are hung to trees and electric poles are being replaced now through newly designed Letter Box with pillars.  Above is one such sample Eco-friendly Letter Box which is fitted with a writing desk also on the rear side to encourage enthusiasts the hobby of letter writing and with a vision to portray a clean image of India Posts, says Mr.B.S.Umesh SSP Bengaluru West Division.

In the newly designed LB, a provision is made for keeping duster cloth inside (arrow in blue) to facilitate the LB Peon for its cleaning at the time of every clearance and a request is made to LB Peon (arrow in green, in Kannada language) to keep the LB cleaned, as soon as he/she opens the door of LB for clearance.

 

All Letter boxes have different number and a barcode sticker inside to facilitate clearance electronically through Nanyatha Software.

It's really a good initiative by India Post to provide good quality boxes with updated facilities and writing space, but I wish the the public use it for the purpose it is provided for and keep it clean and writable for those who wish to use it.

Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples

Russia Post released a stamp to celebrate the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples on 31st July 2020 depicting a symbolic image of the declaration - hands breaking the chains.

The declaration on granting independence to colonial countries and peoples was adopted on the initiative of the USSR on December 14, 1960 at the 15th session of the UN General Assembly. The document proclaimed the need to put an end to colonialism and any practice of segregation and discrimination associated with it, and also confirmed the inalienable right to full independence and freedom of the peoples of all colonial countries and other non-self-governing territories.

A special cover was released highlighting the Ecological Vision of Mahatma Gandhi on 5th December 2020 at Allahabad.

Pavel Osipovich Sukhoi

Russia Post issued a miniature sheet to celebrate 125th anniversary of P.O. Sukhoi (1895–1975), aircraft designer on 22nd July 2020 depicting aircraft Su-2, Su-7BM, Su-27, T-4 (100), Su-57, on the coupon - a portrait of the aircraft designer. Pavel Osipovich Sukhoi (1895-1975) was an outstanding Soviet aircraft designer, one of the founders of domestic jet and supersonic aviation.
