Babu Banarasi Das

India Post released a stamp of Babu Banarasi Das on 31st December 2013, which will be the last issue of the year 2013.

Ports of Ukraine and Morocco.

Ukraine and Morocco issued a set of 2 stamp jointly on their Ports on 18th December 2013. The stamp depicts the Ukraine Port Odessa and Moroccan Port Tangier-Med.

Odessa is a Sea Commercial Port - one of the largest ports in the Black Sea - Azov basin. The port is the leader in terms of cargo handling among the ports of Ukraine and the largest passenger port in the Black Sea. Tangier is an important port city in northern Morocco , on the Strait of Gibraltar . Tangier is the second largest industrial center in the country ( after Casablanca ) , and the new Tangier - Med port to the west of the city is the largest cargo port in Africa.

Sports Legends of Russia - II

Russia released another  Souvenir Sheet with 5 stamp on Sports Legends of Russia on 14th December 2013 as a part of XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi.

 The Souvenir Sheet  depicts:

1773 – Klavdiya S. Boyarskikh (1939–2009) Soviet skier
1774 – Vsevolod M. Bobrov (1922–1979) Soviet captain of the football and hockey teams
1775 – Tatyana B. Averina (1950–2001) a multiple champion of the USSR in the all-around and sprint to the individual distances
1776 – Pierre de Coubertin (1863–1937) Drafted a revival of the Olympic Games . At the Congress at the Sorbonne June 23, 1894 was a historic decision - founded the International Olympic Committee
1777 – Ludwig Guttmann (1899–1980) neurosurgeon, organizer of the first Paralympic Games , founder of the International Stock Mandevilskoy Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities.

Eklavya

India Post released a stamp of Eklavya on 27th December 2013.

The Tristan da Cunha - Ship Stamps.

The final set of stamps in the four part series commemorating the 50th anniversary of the volcanic eruption in 1961 and the resettlement of the island in 1963 features ships of this period on 9th December 2013.

The stamps depicts HMS Puma, HMS Jaguar, MV Tristania and MV Stirling Castle and the MS shows the MV Bornholm, which brought the final group of returning islanders from England to Tristan. The background to the sheet shows the SAS Transvaal off the still active volcanic eruption on Tristan on 27th January 1962 when she brought the Royal Society Expedition to the island. The Transvaal also took from the island the first mail from the expedition, and a cover from that mail also appears on the miniature sheet.

India Post released a stamp of Gulab Singh Lodhi, a freedom fighter on 23rd December 2013.

Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

 Russia Post issued 2 stamps on Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on 12th December 2013.

Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was formed in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation , adopted by popular vote on December 12, 1993 , as the House of Parliament , representing regional interests at the federal level and reflects the federal nature of the Russian state. Federation Council - the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia , including 2 representatives from each subject of Russia : one from the representative and executive bodies of state power . Being Institute integration and consolidation of regions , the Federation Council provides a balance -federal and regional interests when making decisions aimed at implementing strategic development goals .

The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian FederationDecember 12, 1993 , the day of the popular vote , a two-year first elected State Duma together with the Federation Council . Further, the State Duma elections were held in 1995, 1999 , 2003, 2007 and 2011. The term of office of the State Duma convocations 2-5 was four years. In 2007-2011, . State Duma deputies elected by proportional representation ( on party lists) . Entrance barrier was 7 %.Legal status of the State Duma defined in Chapter Constitution of the Russian Federation, its work is headed by chairman and his deputies . The State Duma consists of 450 deputies . State Duma deputy may be elected a Russian citizen over 21 years and having the right to vote (and the same person can not simultaneously be a deputy of the State Duma and the Federation Council ) .

11th M. P. State Level Philatelic Exhibition - MAPPEX 2013.

11th M. P. State Level Philatelic Exhibition MAPPEX 2013 was held at Bhopal from 19th to 21st Dec. 2013. It was organized at Ravishankar Shukla Community Hall, Bittan Market, Bhopal. Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Nandan Dube, Director General Police, M. P. on 19th Dec. 2013.

Philatelic Workshop, Letter writing Competition, Philatelic Quiz, Painting Competition etc. were also organized during MAPPEX – 2013. Prize distribution function was at 4 PM on 21st Dec. 2013. Mr. Sukhraj Singh, D. G. P. (Lokayukta), M.P. was the Chief Guest and Mr. A. P. Shrivastava, Chief Post Master General, M. P. circle presided the  function.

6 Large Vermeil, 5 Vermeil, 11 Large Silver, 9 Silver, 12 Silver Bronze and 8 Bronze Medals were awarded. Winners of Large Vermeil are –

20 years of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

Russia Post issued a Souvenir Sheet to commemorate 20 years of the Constitution of the Russian Federation on 12th December 2013.

Constitution of the Russian Federation, the highest normative legal act of the Russian Federation was Adopted on 12 December 1993.The stamp depicts the cover of the Constitution of the Russian Federation , and on the border the text of Chapter 1 , Article 1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Senate Palace , national flag and a quote of President Vladimir Putin.

History of Automobile - Russia - Monaco Joint Issue.

Russia Post issued a set of 2 stamp jointly with Monaco on 5th December 2013 featuring cars.The stamp features ZIL - 111V and Sunbeam Alpine.

ZIL- 111B - Soviet passenger car with top class body, " long wheelbase sedan ", " limousine " and " shay " small batches assembled at the factory Likhachev Moscow from 1959 to 1967 . Vehicle used in exceptional and special circumstances like parades , holiday escorts and other special occasions. The stamp features a ZIL- 111V , which on April 14, 1961 the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin arrived at Kremlin.

The British company Sunbeam began producing sports cars in 1953 representation seater Sunbeam Alpine.The car was equipped with in-line 4-cylinder engine. The stamp features the which in 1955, starred heroine Grace Kelly in the movie " To Catch a Thief ".

Outstanding Lawyers of Russia.

Russia Post released a set of 2 stamps on Outstanding Lawyers of Russia on 3rd December 2013.

Stamps depicted Plevako Nikiforovitch Fedor (1842) and Radischev Alexander (1749) both well know and famous Lawyers of the Soveit Union.

MAPPEX-2013 - M. P. State level Philatelic Exhibition.

M. P. Postal Circle is going to organize a state level Philatelic Exhibition ‘MAPPEX 2013’ from 19th to 21st December at Bhopal. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav on December 19 and he would also release a "special cover" on 'Princely State Postage Stamps' on the occasion. On December 20, a special cover on All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve's successful bison rehabilitation plan, would be released. Similary, on December 21, a special cover will be released, courtesy to the M.P Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.

India Post released a commemorative stamp in honour of Beant Singh, former Chief Minister of Punjab ( 1992-1995)  on 17th December 2013.

Parna Mahotsav - Pune

On the occasion of Parna Mahotsav of 300th Vardhmam Tap Ayambil Oli of PP Sadhivijee Hanskeertishree Jee M.S., Jainism Philately Group Pune Chapter issued a special cover on 16 December 2013 at Pune. 

India Post provided special cancellation. Release function was organized at 10 A.M. at Shri Gidiji Jain Temple Pune. Mr. S. R. Meena, P.M.G. was the Chief Guest. Special cover was released by Mr. Meena alongwith Mr. Chandulal S. Shah, Godiji Mandir Trust and Mr. Hemant Bafna, President, Jainism Philately group, Pune Chapter. Large number of Sadhvis, guests and ladies were present in the function.

Olympic Sports facilities - XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

Russia Post released a Souvenir Sheet with 6 stamps on 30th November 2013 on the Olympic Sports facilities of XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

The stamps depicts The Olympic stadium Fischt, Complex like Laura and Russian Hills, Ice Palace and Iceberg and the Ice Arena, Puck.

New Year Greetings from Russia.

Russia Post released a set of 4 stamp on 29th November 2013 to greet the new year with the Mascots of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi. The stamp depict the Ray of Light and Snowflake, white teddy bear, bunny and leopard.

Sports Legends of Russia

Russia released a Souvenir Sheet with 5 stamp on Sports Legends of Russia on 15th November 2013 as a part of XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi.

The Stamps depicts the following Sports Legends of Russia :

E.R.Grishin 1751 ( 1931-2005 ) Grishin Eugene R.was a Soviet skater.
L.A.Pahomova 1752 ( 1946-1986 ) Pakhomov Lyudmila was a Soviet skater
V.M.Melanin 1753 ( 1933-1994 ) Melanin Vladimir Mikhailovich was a Soviet athlete.
A.P.Ragulin 1754 ( 1941-2004 ) Ragulin Alexander Pavlovich was a Defender in the Russian Hockey team.
A.V.Firsov 1755 ( 1941-2000 ) Anatoly Firsov was a Soviet hockey player.

History of Russian uniforms.

Russia released a set of 4 stamp on History of Russian uniforms on 8th November 2013.

The stamp depicts Dragoons and a police officer - 1718, The policeman and the captain Separate Corps of Gendarmes, Regulirovschitsa and police sergeant - 1934 and Senior Lieutenant and Major General of Police - 2012.

 

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade

India Post released a stamp to mark the golden jubilee of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) on 10th December 2013.

The visit of Emperor and Empress of Japan

India Post issued a  Miniature sheet  to commemorate the first official visit of the Japanese Emperor and Empress to India on 5th December 2013. The Miniature sheet  depicts Qutub Minar and the Tokyo Tower. It is said to be the first occasion in Indian philatelic history that a postage stamp has been released to commemorate the visit of a dignitary in India.

75 years of the Universal Martial Arts Sambo.

Russia released a stamp of the Martial art Sambo on 1st November 2013. Sambo (self-defense without weapons)is a kind of sports martial arts developed in the USSR.

Olympic Winter Sports - Russia

Russia Post released a set of 3 stamp on 1st November 2013 of Olympic Winter Sports as a part of  XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

The stamp depicts:

Biathlon - a sport that combines ski race and rifle shooting on a few lines of fire .
Curling - a team sports game on the ice rink , which is attended by two teams of four players .
Ice Hockey - Sports team play on the ice, with the participation of two teams.

INS Vikramaditya

India Post released a stamp depicting INS Vikramaditya on 4th December 2014.

INS Vikramaditya (R33)  is a Project 11430 modified kiev-class aircraft carrier which entered into service with the Indian Navy in 2013. The ship has been renamed in honour of Vikramaditya, a legendary 1st century BC emperor of  India. Originally built as Baku and commissioned in 1987, the carrier served with the Soviet and  Russian Navies before being decommissioned in 1996 as she was too expensive to operate on a post-Cold War budget.

The carrier was purchased by India on 20 January 2004 after years of negotiations at a final price of $2.35 billion. The ship successfully completed her sea trials in July 2013 and aviation trials in September 2013.

She was formally commissioned on 16 November, 2013 at a ceremony held at Severodvinsk, Russia. The ceremony was attended by Indian Defense Minister A.K. Antony and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin. The ship is expected to begin patrolling the Indian ocean by early 2014.

50 Years of Nagaland.

On 1st December 2013 India Post released a Commemorative stamp on the occasion of Nagaland State’s Golden Jubilee Year Celebrations and Hornbill Festival 2013 at Kisama at Nagaland.

Russia Post issued a set of 3 stamp in the series "Contemporary Art of Russia" on 25th October 2013. The stamps depicts Monument of AI Pokryshkin of MV Pereyaslavets (2005), "Bouquet" of VM Small (2005) and "Kerosene" of AL Bobykin (2012).

Sashastra Seema Bal

India Post released a stamp to celebrate 50 years of Sashastra Seema Bal. SSB which was set up in 1963 is a Border Guarding Force (BGF) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Railway Workshops

India Post released a set of two commemorative stamps and a Miniature Sheet on completion of 150 years of Kanchrapara and Jamalpur Railway Workshop of Eastern Railway  on 26th November 2013.

Intelligence Bureau

India Post released a commemorative stamp on Intelligence Bureau on 23rd November 2013.

Sathya Sai Baba

India Post released a stamp of Sathya Sai Baba on 23rd  November 2013 to celebrate his 88th birth anniversary celebrations.

Battle of Leipzig

Russia Post issued a souvenir Sheet to commemorate 200 years of the victory of the allied armies in the Battle of Leipzig on 19th September 2013. The Souvenir sheet depicts picture of the war by K. Rechlin "Attack of the Life of the Cossacks near Leipzig 4 October 1813 " ( 1845) from the collection of the Novocherkassk Museum of Don Cossacks.

Russia Post issued a souvenir Sheet on Coats of arms of Yaroslavl region on 11th October 2013.

Knights of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called - SV Mikhalkov

Russia Post issued a stamp of Sergei Mikhalkov - writer, social activist and author on 9th October 2013.

XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi. Olympic Torch Relay

Russia Post issued a Souvenir sheet on 7th September Olympic Torch Relay of XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 to be held in Sochi.The stamp depicts the emblem Olympic Torch and Map of the Russian Federation, Torch Relay, the images of the Moscow Kremlin and the Naval Station in the city of Sochi in the borders of the sheet.

Postage Stamp in honour of Sachin Tendulkar.

On 14th November 2013, as Sachin Tendulkar played his 200th Test, which will be his last test match, was honoured by a release of a set of stamp.

Milind Deora, Sharad Pawar and Rajeev Shukla took to the ground to release the stamp honouring Sachin Tendulkar ahead of the second Test between India and West Indies.There will be 2 stamps of Rs.20/- each and a miniature sheet which will be available to the collectors later.

A limited edition special 10-gram gold coin which was used for today's toss to commemorate Tendulkar's farewell game. The coin has Tendulkar's photo and the MCA logo on the other side. It also has a metallic replicas for fans who wish to buy them as mementoes.
