CG Krishnaswamy (1950-2006] noted theatre personality popularly known as "CGK" in the cultural parlance of Kamataka was a cult figure in Kannada amateur theatre. He was the founder of Ranganrantara", a forum for theatre movement in Kamataka. He has scripted and directed many plays like Odalala', Shakespearana swapna nowke", Neegikonda Samsa. "Ambedkar and Belchi He was conferred with several awards, most notably, the Karnataka Rajyothsava Award' for his outstanding contribution to Kannada theatre.
