Basel Mission set up" Basel Mission Tile Factory" at Jeppu, Mangaluru/ One of it's Missionaries Mr.C.G.Andrew Plebst manufactured the first Mangaluru Tile in 1865. Mangaluru Tile has attracted world attention for its robustness and unique design.
