The Indian Spotted Chevrotian.

A special cover was released on 31st July 2020 on the Indian Spotted Chevrotian at Someshwara.

The Indian spotted Chevrotian( Moschiola Meminna) is often referred to as the "Mouse Deer". It is small, lacking antlers, has well developed canine teeth and is mostly found in the deciduous forests of Western Ghats of India. The mottled markings provide excellent camouflage. The mouse deer communicates through scent marks and vocalizations. the species is placed in Schedule I of the Wild Life Protection Act (1972)
