Russia Post released a stamp to celebrate 100 years of the Dmitrov Kremlin Museum-Preserve on 13th December 2018 depicting the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the temple
of the righteous Elizabeth and the Nikolsky Gate of the Dmitrov Kremlin
Museum-Reserve.
Dmitrov Kremlin - partially preserved ancient Russian fortress, the
residence of the princes of Dmitrov. It was founded as a border fortress
by Rostov-Suzdal prince Yury Dolgoruky in the 12th century. On the
territory of the Kremlin is located the Dmitrovsky Kremlin
Museum-Reserve, which includes 12 buildings, including the Assumption
Cathedral (early 16th century), a number of buildings from the 19th –
20th centuries, and the restored Nikolsky Gate.
