The 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago.

Russia Post issued a Souvenir sheet to celebrate The 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago on 4th September 2013.

On September 4, 1913 members of the Hydrographic Expedition of the Arctic Ocean ( 1910-1915 . ) Under the leadership of BA Celebes opened archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, located on the border of the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea . The archipelago is called Land of Nicholas II. On January 11, 1926 under decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, it was renamed the Severnaya Zemlya .

The stamp depicts icebreaking ships " Vaygach ", " Taimyr" and a portrait of BA Celebes and the landscape of Severnaya Zemlya archipelago in the sheet.

The 1150th Anniversary of Smolensk.

Russia Post issued a Souvenir sheet to celebrate 1150th Anniversary of Smolenskon, one of the first cities of ancient Russia, on  21st September 2013.

Stamp shows the Smolensk fortress wall and the coat of arms of Smolensk. Outside picture shows the various periods of history of Smolensk: the inception of the city and a fragment of a wooden fortification end of XVI - early XVII centuries. Battle of Smolensk War of 1812 and the banner Neverovskiy Infantry Division , Battle of Smolensk in 1941 and the banner of 630 Infantry Regiment 107 division, State flag of the Russian Federation and the parade on the background of modern architectural structures : Smolensk Central station and a residential building.

Russia - Liechtenstein Joint Issue - Art.

Russia issued a set of 2 stamp jointly with Liechtenstein depicting art of both the countries on 2nd September 2013.

The stamp depicts the picture IG Myasoedova ( E. Zotov ) "Campaign miniytsev " (1909 ) and " Zilum " (1945), located at the State Russian Museum and the private collection of Dr Peter Goopa .

National Communications.

A stamp was released by Russia Post of Joint issue of the Communications Administrations of countries - members of the RCC on 21st August 2013.

Stamp depicts a communications satellite "Express -AM " over the map of Russia and the logo of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communication (RCC)

India Post released a stamp on Ruchi Ram Sahni on 24th October 2013.

Mahila Seva Samaja, Bangalore

A Special cover was released to commemorate 100 years of Mahila Seva Samaja, Bangalore for the dedicated service in the field of education on 1st October 2013 in Bangalore by the Karnataka Postal Circle.

 The Mahila Seva Samaja, Bangalore was established in October 1913 by Parvathamma Chandrashekara Iyer to provide education and work for girls and under privileged women.

A Special cover was released to commemorate 16 years of Indian Society of Neuroradiology  on 26th September 2013 in Bangalore by the Karnataka Postal Circle.

Indian Society of Neuroradiology, established in the year 1998, is engaged in a wide range of activities to create awareness of the subject in both diagnostic and interventional Neuroradiology among the public and physicians.
