11th Bihar Philatelic Exhibition 2012 - STAMP EXPO - 2012

Bihar Stamp Expo 2012 , a state level stamp exhibition is to be held at WHEELER SENATE HALL, PATNA UNIVERSITY, PATNA from 10th to 13th Feb 2012. The Exhibition is organized by the Bihar Postal Circle with the active support of philatelic associations/philatelists of Bihar/PCI. The organizing committee is headed by the Chief Postmaster General, Bihar Circle, Patna-800001.

Titanic Centenary 1912-2012

Gibraltar will release a set of 5 stamps on 31st January 2012 on RMS Titanic.

RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that struck an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City, and sank on 15 April 1912, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.

Here is a cover which I received from Macedonia featuring Ships which is a means of Transportation. The two set of stamp was issued in the year 2009.

Puran Chandra Gupta

On 2nd January 2011 India post released the first postage stamp for the year 2012 in the memory of  Puran Chandra Gupta, the founder of Hindi daily  Dainik Jagaran, one of the leading Hindi newspaper in India.

Russian Regions - Omsk

On 12th December 2011 Russia released a stamp on Omsk region of Russia under the series "Russian regions"

The stamp depicts the Dormition Cathedral in Omsk, the sculpture "Winged genius" on the front of the Omsk Drama Theater and the River Irtysh. In this region there are about 1,700 unique archaeological, historical, cultural and other attractions.

Archaeological Survey of India

India Post released a set of 2 stamp and a miniature sheet on the occasion of 150 years of Archaeological Survey of India  on 20th December 2011.

President's Fleet Review

India Post released a set of 4 stamp on the occasion of President's Fleet review, Mumbai on 19th December 2011.

KGMC / CSMMU

India Post released a stamp on King George Medical College / Chathrapathi Shivaji Maharaj Medical University Lucknow on 23rd December 2011 on the occasion of its academic centenary year.

Lace from Russia

On 12th December 2011, Russia released a stamp on the series "Arts and Crafts - lace" devoted to the traditional form of folk art - lace fishery. The stamps are in triangular shape.

Basic lace crafts were found in Vologda, Elets, Ryazan, Novgorod, Tula, Vyatka and other cities. Each region has its own style and method determining the place of manufacture of lace.Depicted on  stamps Belevsky lace, cape Eletskaya tablecloth, napkin Vologda and Vyatka tablecloth.

Golden Jubilee of Goa Liberation.

On19th December 2011, India Post released a stamp to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Goa Liberation. In the background is the Fort Aguada Lighthouse which is a 16th century Portuguese built Lighthouse, about 10 km West of Panaji, the capital of Goa.
