Russian Post released a stamp on 18th December 2023 on the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with images of a reindeer herder in a sledge pulled by reindeer, the Ulakhan-Sis mountain range with granite pillars, and a sculptural composition in the form of mammoth tusks with the inscription Verkhoyansk is the Cold Pole.
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest constituent region in the composition of the Russian Federation and the largest administrative division in the world. It is also one of the most inclement places in the world in terms of climate: it hosts the cold pole of the Northern Hemisphere.
