A Special cover was released to celebrate 512th Birth Anniversary of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda on 27th June 2021 at Bengaluru.
Nadaprabhu Kempegowda was a chieftain under the Vijayanagara Empire. He is instrumental in Planning, Building the foundation of the current city of Bengaluru. He is therefore credited to have put Bengaluru on the World Map. "Bendakaluru" as it was originally known was shaped solely due to his Town Planning capabilities. His foresight by way of demarking business areas from residences, planning temples, water tanks and imgational facilities made him a brilliant visionary. He was a great social reformer and a Patron of Art & Learning. He ruled Bengaluru for about 5 decades. Several educational institutions, buildings, transport facilities and the famous International Airport are all named after him. This special cover is released to commemorate 512th Birth Anniversary of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda
