V. Peskov Voronezh State Nature Biosphere Reserve

Russia Post released a souvenir sheet to celebrate 100th Anniversary of the V. Peskov Voronezh State Nature Biosphere Reserve on 17th July 2023 depicting image of a river beaver as a symbol of the Reserve along with the neighborhoods of the V. Peskov Voronezh State Nature Biosphere Reserve as well as the European red deer, mallard, and white-tailed eagle that live there.It was founded in 1923 to preserve an endangered animal species: the river beaver.

Gorodetsky and Sarych Lighthouse of Russia

Russia Post released a set of 2 stamps on the Gorodets Lighthouse against the background of the map of the Kola Peninsula and the wind rose, and the Sarych Lighthouse against the background of the map of the Crimean Peninsula and the wind rose.

The Gorodets Lighthouse was commissioned for operation in 1898. It is located on the shore of the White Sea in the northeastern part of the Kola Peninsula. Nowadays, it is a multifunctional complext, which includes a lighthouse in the form of a stone yellow tower, standing high above the red one-story tall house, a lighthouse technical building, two duplex dwelling houses and outbuildings. The tower is 18 m high from the base and 55 m from sea level. The lighthouse beacons with white flashing lights for up to 26 miles.

The Sarych Lighthouse was founded in 1898. It is located on the shore of the Black Sea in the southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula. The lighthouse is a tower of 12 meters high made of cast iron resembling a giant chess piece. The total height of the building is 37.5 m. The Sarych Lighthouse is equipped with up-to-date instrumentation, a radio navigation system and radio equipment. The white light of the lighthouse is visible to ships from more than 20 miles away.

International Mother language Day.

Karnataka Postal Circle released a special cancellation on 21st February 2024 to celebrate International Mother language Day. This cancellation was made available at all Bureaus and other Head Post offices in Karnataka.

A Postcard with a special cancellation was released to celebrate the 35th All India Postal Hockey Tournament at Chennai on 16th February 2024.

Russia Post issued a stamp to celebrate 100th Anniversary of the formation of the state governing body in the field of physical culture and sports on 27th June 2023 depicting image of an emblem of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

165th Anniversary of the first Russian postage stamps

Russia Post released a souvenir sheet on 20th June 2023 featuring the first postage stamp and a modern postage stamp, styled as the Seventh issue of the Eagles standard postage stamps, a page of a stock book with publications devoted to landmark events in the history of Russia.

The first postage stamps were issued in the Russian Empire in 1857; their official application for letter post payment throughout the country began on January 1, 1858. The author of the drawing of the first Russian stamp was Franz Michael Kepler; the miniature was made in two colors (brown and blue) and featured the coat of arms of the Post Office and the mantle.

Postage stamps of the RSFSR were issued from 1917 to 1923. The first standard stamp of that period was put into circulation on November 7, 1918.

Postage stamps of the USSR were issued from 1923 to 1991. The first series of four plots was dedicated to the opening of the first All-Russian agricultural and artisan-industrial exhibition.

In January of 1992, the first postage stamps of the Russian Federation came out. In February of 1992. The two miniatures provide the images of St. George the Victorious and the Millennium of Russia Monument in Veliky Novgorod.

The Eurasian Economic Union

Russia Post released a stamp on 8th June 2023 featuring an emblem designed purposefully for the year of the presidency of the Russian Federation in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an international organization of regional economic integration possessing international legal personality established by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. The EAEU ensures freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor, as well as conduct of coordinated, harmonized or unified policy in economic sectors.

Alexander Gorchakov (1798-1883) was the chief of the Russian foreign policy department during the reign of Alexander II, a Chancellor of the Russian Empire (1867), His Serene Highness (1871).
