Monti Fest

A special cover on Monti Fest was released in Bengaluru on 8th September 2018.

Every year on 8th September Mangalorean Catholics world over celebrate the nativity of Mary, mother of Jesus. The festival which originated at Mangaluru in 1763 is known as Monti Fest. Children bring flowers to worship mother Mary. New paddy (novem) is blessed and eaten on this day. This is also celebrated as harvest festival. This is an integral part of the cultural heritage of Mangaluru.

St.Anne's Church

A special cover was released on 7th August 2018 to celebrate 225th Anniversary of St.Anne's Church, Kodagu.

St. Anne's Church, Virajpet which stands as a symbol of Coorg's secular tradition was built in 1792. It is in the Gothic architectural style. It is one of the oldest churches in Karnataka and South India.

On the occasion of 63rd punyatithi Mahotsav of first Jain Saint Prathamachaya Shanti Sagar Ji Maharaj, two special covers and special cancellations have been issued at famous jain pilgrim centres Sravanabelgola (Karnataka) and Rishabhgiri Mangi Tungi (Maharashtra) on 11th September 2018.

At Sravanabelgola special cover was released in the holy presence of Pujya Bhattarak Charukirti Mahaswamiji in a grand function. At Mangi Tungi Pujya Aryika Gyanmati Mataji and Pujya Ravindra Kirti Swamiji graced the release function.
