Russian Post issued a Souvenir sheet on 20th June 2014, which depicts a modern form of the State Hermitage, an art Borovykovs'kogo "Catherine II on a walk in the Park" (1794, TG), and at the top the logo of the 250th anniversary of the museum.
The State Hermitage Museum - one of the largest in the world of art and historical museums, the beginning of the collection of which was laid in 1764, when Catherine II purchased 225 paintings. Original works of art housed in a special wing of the palace - the Small Hermitage, hence the common name of the future museum.
